Couples Therapy
Sometimes, the challenges we face in our relationships are not ours to work through alone. For this reason, I believe that couples therapy, in which the relationship itself is viewed as the primary patient, can be a powerful way to foster greater connection, understanding, and emotional safety.
In couples therapy, I primarily draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence based approach that helps individuals better understand the underlying emotions, attachment needs, and interaction patterns that shape their relationships. Rather than focusing solely on conflict or communication strategies, EFT aims to identify the negative cycles that partners become stuck in and create new ways of relating that promote closeness, trust, and security.
Couples therapy can help partners move away from patterns of blame, defensiveness, and disconnection, and toward greater empathy, vulnerability, and collaboration. Together, we will work to better understand your relationship dynamics, strengthen communication, and create a relationship that feels safer, more secure, and more fulfilling.
Although many people think of couples therapy as being only for romantic relationships, I also work with friends, family members, business partners, and other important relational units seeking to improve communication, resolve conflict, and strengthen their connection.
